At Kandessence & Co, every candle is crafted with care and designed to elevate your space with warmth and sophistication. To ensure the best experience and the safest burn, please follow our care and safety guidelines below.

1. First Burn

For your first burn, allow the candle to melt evenly across the entire surface before extinguishing (approximately 2–4 hours).

This helps prevent tunneling and ensures an even burn for the life of your candle.

2. Trim the Wick

Before each burn, trim your wick to ¼ inch (6 mm).

A properly trimmed wick prevents soot, excessive flame height, and uneven burning.

Use a wick trimmer or scissors once the wax has fully cooled.

3. Burn Time

• Do not burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
• Always allow the wax to cool completely before relighting.
• Stop using the candle when ½ inch (1.3 cm) of wax remains at the bottom to prevent overheating the vessel.

4. Placement

Always place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from:

• Drafts or vents
• Curtains, paper, or flammable materials
• Children and pets
• Never leave a burning candle unattended.

5. Extinguishing the Candle

Use a snuffer or gently dip the wick into the melted wax using a wick dipper to extinguish.

Avoid blowing out candles, as this can cause splattering or smoke.

6. Candle Storage

Store candles in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to preserve fragrance and color.

7. Vessel Safety

Your candle jar may become warm during use. Always handle with care and avoid touching or moving the vessel until it has cooled completely.

8. Wax Melts

For wax melts, only use them in approved wax warmers.

Do not add water, and never leave a warmer unattended while in use.

9. Reuse & Refill

Once your candle is finished, clean out any remaining wax and reuse your luxury vessel for décor or storage.
